Gatehouse Residence

A BC Housing build, Gatehouse is the home for up to five (5) individuals requiring high medical 24/7 care due to various degrees of disability. The home is also VIHA (Vancouver Island Health Authority) licensed. The first clients moved in during March 2016.

The house is spacious, and the backyard has seen a beautiful transformation. Clients and staff get to enjoy the outdoors on the patio -deck during the fair-weather months. BBQ’s, music, arts and crafts, birthday and other celebrations as well as hosting other programs for visits, are some of the things that are on the calendar.

From the very start the feeling of being a part of Gatehouse has been that we are a part of a chosen family. I have been comfortable visiting with Y. in the house and socializing with the other clients, their families and the staff. I feel a strong personal connection to the household. It pleases me to see the connection Y. has with the caregivers. His level of care he receives is superb. I’m thankful every day for the home Gatehouse provides for him.
